OIU Meeting for Jock Palfreeman

July 17, 2009 - 9:48pm

We are writing to inform you of our brother, Jock Palfreeman's, current situation and to request your help where you are available to provide it.

As you may know, Jock was arrested in Bulgaria in December 2007, after going to the aid of a gypsy who had been gang-beaten. He is now facing murder charges and awaits his trial in Sofia Central Prison, notorious for it's brutality and human rights violations.

We are trying to generate awareness for Jock's situation in the following ways:

An information/action meeting will take place on Sunday, 19th July 2009 at 2pm. It will be held at the Frank O'Kelly Theatrette at St Ignatius College. This meeting is being held in order to inform the public of Jock's situation and enlist their assistance. We feel it is very important that our friends and their parents make every effort to attend this meeting. We hope to use this meeting to gain the attention of the Australian Parliament and other influential members of society.

We urge the Palfreeman's friends and supporters to sign up at www.FreeJock.net and use the 'How to Help' link. This will direct you to a number of ways you can help us - writing letters to parliament, making donations, signing petitions.

If you are able to assist in any other ways, or for more information regarding the open meeting, please contact our friend Ashleigh Hart on 0450 805 916 or ashleigh.dupre@gmail.com.

Our family needs your help in fighting for a fair and transparent trial for our brother.

Yours sincerely,

Spencer and Angus Palfreeman.
