Every year the OIU sponsors the well attended Careers Expo. For many years, this has proven to be a great success, attended by students and parents from Years 10, 11 & 12. As the OIU works to become more proactive we changed the format of the Career Discussion Groups to give the students a better chance at being able to attend all topics and ask as many questions and explore as many opportunities as possible.
The OIU now hold a series of 5 dedicated Career Seminars held in the fantastic new Regis Hall on Friday evenings during Term 2. Our new format has proven to be successful, with Seminars being well attended for various topics including Science & Medicine, Law, Engineering & Construction, Armed Services and Business, Teaching, Built Environment (Architecture, Building & Construction), Banking & Financial markets, Sales & Marketing and Applied science.
Every second year we then work to rotate the topics to give the students a chance to experience everything possible. All students (Currently at Riverview or any school) are welcome to attend these nights so they maybe able to gain more insight into the profession they may end up working in.
