Can you spare a few hours over summer?

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a great Christmas.

As you know, Rob Hartman and Steve Newnham have organized a Homeless Persons Camp for the past few years at View each January. It is absolutely brilliant for both the participants (from the Cana Communities) and the volunteers (about 20 boys from Years 10, 11 & 12) and 10 or so adults.

At this stage we are desperately short of adult volunteers. Can I please ask each of you to consider participating as a volunteer. We ask the boys to commit to all 3 days – from 12pm until 9pm. However, whatever you can do would be great. Last year I was only able to make the evenings. I still found it really worthwhile. Obviously, we need a core of adults to be there for the full time, however.

Please contact Rob Hartman (rhartman@stentoncreed.com or 0433 272 966) if you can help out.

Also, last year Steve Newnham brought his boat. This proved to be an absolute highlight for the participants. Steve, unfortunately, can’t make it this year the 3 days clash with rowing camp. Hence, could anyone please source one or many boats for at least an afternoon each? You may have a mate on holidays who could provide a boat
