Donald Bradman Dinner

July 24, 2008 - 1:52pm

Sir Donald Bradman is a legend who needs no introduction to Australian cricket fans. Everyone knows he scored 6,996 Test runs, batted 80 times, was not out 10 times and, if he scored 4 runs in his final Test innings - instead of getting out for a duck - that he would have had a Test batting average of 100.  We all know that was not to be, and that he had to be content with a Test batting average of 99.94.

Don Bradman would have turned 99.94 on the 5th August 2008.

To celebrate this historic occasion, a dinner is being organised in the SCG Members' Dining Room on Tuesday evening, 5th August 2008 for 120 privileged people.  All proceeds will go to the Bradman Foundation, trustee of the Bradman Museum.

Arthur Morris, who was at the non strikers end when Don Bradman was bowled for a duck in his final innings, will be guest of honour.

Jim Maxwell has kindly agreed to be the MC for the evening.
